Scraps of Darkness "For the Alternative Scrapper"
|
Hello to All!! My name is Mandy aka Craftysprinkles, and I am truly excited
to be a DT for Scraps of Darkness. I've been scrapbooking for over 16
years now and see no end in sight. I am a SAHM of five awesome kids and
am married to a wonderfully supportive husband. I love photography, as
well as scrapbooking, and the "mammarazzi" in me is always following my
kids around taking shot after shot. My scrappy style is a mix of shabby
chic, mixed media, and grunge, so be prepared to see many different
sides of me.
A BIG "hello" to all of my Scraps Of Darkness friends. My name is Renea a.k.a. Reneabouquets in the virtual world. I
am just beyond excited to be a member of the Scraps Of Darkness Design Team, and I can't thank Melinda enough for
giving me this wonderful opportunity!! I don't just love scrapbooking, I am passionate about it. I love every aspect of
this amazing multi-media art. The art of the creation itself, from taking the design in my head and getting it out onto
the paper, to the social aspect of it. I love sharing what I know, and learning what others share. I love talking about it,
as well as encouraging others to take that leap and dive right in. I have quickly become a forum junky and I love the
sisterhood aspect of all who share in this experience. My biggest hope is that my addiction is contagious and that
each and every one of you catch it!
I would also like to shout out a thanks to both my husband and son. They not only put up with my scrapbook insanity,
but incourage me to pursue my passion. I have been married to my husband for over 21 years, and he has always
been, not only the love of my life, but my biggest supporter in all aspects of my life. We have built a wonderful life
together, and have raised an amazing son. God has definitely blessed me beyond anything I could have imagined!
So, grab some paper, your favorite medium and some embellies, and join me on this exciting journey. I can't wait to
see what you create with these gorgeous kits and hope that you find not only beauty, but a little inspiration in what I
create!
My name is Lisa a/k/a Raining and I am hopelessly addicted to the art of scrapbooking. As well as cataloging
memories for my family I consider what I do to be scrap- art. I love taking a flat piece of paper and packaged products
and turning them into something beautiful and unexpected. I could devote my entire self to this art but alas I have a
husband and two children. They are my primary subjects in my art and my life and do sometimes cringe when I
mention the words "photo shoot."
I have always been a creative spirit and have delved into many different areas, sewing, rug hooking and needle arts.
I hope to inspire all of you with my designs from this wonderful kit club "Scraps of Darkness". I define my style as
unexpected. I can be shabby chic, artsy or eclectic but always strive to be different.
I am honored to be a member of this wonderfully talented design team and look forward to sharing my work with you!

I am Charlotte, AKA Suepup in the virtal world. I live in central Ohio, born and raised in the heart of an Appalachian
coal mining town. I live with my husband, a Doberman Pincher, a Rottweiler and a Pharoah hound/Doberman mix. I am
addicted to art and crafting!. My current loves are scrapbooking, mixed media, photography and printmaking.
I guess my creative journey began as a young child, when I began oil painting, drawing with pastels and beading. As
a child, and still do, love anything that is rusted, weathered and distressed. I find beauty in things most people find
ugly or consider junk. I am fairly new to scrapbooking and had been very reluctant to try the "art". For many years, I
thought scrapbooking was only a craft, and not art. I now laugh at that thought, I was so wrong. A couple years ago,
one of my friends dared me to just scrap one page. Well I did, and now I'm addicted. I find scrapbooking is a way to
create smaller pieces of mixed media artwork! I love Distressed, Steampunk, Shabby Chic and Grunge style
scrapbooking. I consider myself an artist rather than a crafter. I often find that my scrapbooking style does not fit the
traditional scrapper. I have a passion for Modern and Renaissance Art. My favorite artist is Kathe Kollwitz, a German
Expressionist whose work expresses empathy for the less fortunate, embraces the victims of poverty, hunger, death
and war during the first half of the 20th century. I am also addicted to the Tudor and Edwardian era, I really any time
period of great social change.
I am THRILLED and feel SO BLESSED to be Scraps of Darkness' Sketch Artist. I have been so inspired by all of the
wonderful talent surrounding Scraps of Darkness.

My name is Karen Zueger aka Lost Coast Scrapper. I've been scrapbooking for about 6 years now and it is my
passion. I live in Northern California in the Redwoods and have 2 wonderful daughters and have been blessed with
4 grandsons, and I love creating memories for them! I enjoy creating art with vintage, grunge, and steampunk style
using alternative techniques such as texture and canvas work, which is why I am honored and proud to be a part of
the Design Team here at Scraps of Darkness. I hope you enjoy my creations and visit my blog at
http://lostcoastscrapper.blogspot.com to see some of my art. Thanks Melinda for this great opportunity to be a part
of your amazing Design Teams!

Hi! I'm Karolina Stopyra a.k.a. Drycha from Poland. I have boyfriend and almost black cat. By now I'm in jewelery school
but before I passed the exam for the cook (trade school too).
I love to learn new techniques and bring them together. I made a lot of things; scrapbooking, cardmaking, jewelry, art
dolls and others... I became interested in scrapbooking in spring 2008, love this form due to a combination of many
elements.
I hope that you'll like my works, I'm so honored to be here!

Howdy, folks! My name is Vivian, aka contadinak. Early in 2012, I married the most amazing man and we have been
able to spend this last blissful year living in Las Vegas! As "locals," we've had an incredible opportunity to enjoy the
great diversity of cultures to be found primarily off the strip and to sample a variety of delicious foods. Needless to
say, our waistlines have suffered somewhat from the gustatorial indulgences :-/. Shortly we will be moving to San
Jose, CA, to set up shop for the long-term. Since retiring from an extensive teaching career in Los Angeles, I have
been blessed to be able to work exclusively on my art and craft. In between inky sessions, I enjoy writing, working in
my garden, slobbering all over my dogs, hangin' with my guy, and savoring any and all experiences that keep me
present. In the papercrafting department, I'm comfortable working in a number of styles. But when working for my
own pleasure, these days I tend toward the spontaneous delights of mixed media and grunge as well as the comforts
of vintage and shabby. I get most excited when I'm able to incorporate natural, organic elements in my projects, as
well as a variety of textures. Lastly, I want to share with you that I am THRILLED to be an Educator with Scraps of
Darkness, to have this opportunity to get to know you in the coming months, to share inspirations, tips, and
techniques with you along the way, and to grow our craft together.

Hi, my name is Kim Arledge, married to Duane and mother to Landon, Caleb, and Abigail. I am a stay at home mom and
a transplant to the big state of Texas. We have been here for a little over 8 years now and have made it a place we
like to call home.
In 2006, I was introduced to what would soon become my grandest obsession. I began with Creative Memories and
very soon after, craved more and thus opened my eyes to a world I could have never imagined. I have enjoyed
serving on sketch sites, kit clubs, manufacturing teams and published in a couple of magazines. This is such an
amazing hobby that allows creativity to stretch beyond the imagination but also and most importantly, to tell our
stories.
Other hobbies of mine include photography, reading paranormal romance novels and spending every available
moment with my adorable family. A few other random facts....I love coffee, sweet tea, rainy days, Pride and Prejudice,
t-shirts and pajama bottoms, country music (although I love to throw in some Michael Buble' or Harry Connick Jr.) LSU
football, and shopping shamelessly at Archievers.
Hi all! Let me introduce myself a little bit more.
I am a girl (yes, I’m still a girl even though I’ve lived over 50 years LOL) living in Hamar, Norway. Hamar is located a
little outside Oslo, the Capital in Norway. Here we live, my man and our two darling daughters aged 15 and 11.
I’m working 80% as an office clerk, doing orders, invoices etc.
On my spare time I spend lots of hours in my crafting room. Love taking pictures as well, but hasn’t been so much of
that the last year. Suddenly my objects (as in our two daughters) grew up and weren't so interested in joining me
outside or being photographed.
Love the old bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple etc. And I’m totally in love with Johnny Depp LOL. Seen
most of his movies and drag my darling to the movies every time there is a new film with him! (he has accepted my
passion for JD and is lurking with me)
I started my creative adventure some time ago, just after our youngest daughter was born. Think it was during 2004.
A lot of my internet friends had started with scrapbooking and I was curious about what they were doing. Received a ”
start-kit” from one of my friends and started making layouts. They were really simple and I was really afraid doing
something wrong. Very obsessed with ”scrapbooking-rules”, very accurate, didn’t dare to tear papers, they had to be
cut very precise!! LOL
After a couple of years I felt that layouts were to ”big” for me and started making cards. Sold some of them to friends
and at markets. Joined a few competitions and saw that many people liked my cards.
But a few years ago something happened. I joined a new forum for creative ladies (yes, sorry to say, but we are just
ladies/girls). I was very inspired by those ladies and one of them challenged me all the time to try new things, new
techniques. I just LOVED it!! Loved the challenges and my whole creative world changed.
Now I’m not afraid of new things, I make my own rules – well….. I think there are no rules LOL
I got very interested in mixed medium and started painting. On canvas. Small canvases. Haven’t the room and space
to do large one (for the time being) but have done a few the past years.
I have also been teaching some classes in both Art Journal, tags and backgrounds.
I don’t think I have a significant style. At least I don’t think so myself. I can make a really clean&simple layout for so
doing a really mixed media layout with lots of papers and embellishments.
I have been designing for the Norwegian designer Vibeke Spigseth - Poppydesign for a few years now. She designs
pattern papers and stamps.
I am also designing for 7Dots Studio – Producer of pattern papers. Many of you have probably heard about
Finnabair, one of the two girls who designs papers there. An incredible creative girl!! And for Art Anthology, love
their mists and different kinds of paint!
